Quick Ident on these
Hey guys... I've got the engine back in but can't exactly remember where a couple of things go.
This pic is of some vacuum unit on the right side of the compartment at the oil filler neck. It has one big connection at the base of the neck and then another two connections that I don't know where to attach. ![]() This pic is a larger diameter hose on the left side of the engine compartment. One end is connected to the base of the throttle body and the other, I haven't a clue. It does have a specific 90 degree bend molded into it, but I still don't see where it goes yet. Can you help. ![]() After I get these items connected, a few other things to and I'll be ready to attempt a first start in many many months. Appreciate your help. -Troy

C'mon it's early... you can walk out in the garage and take a quick peek for me, eh? I'm all greasy with nothing to do while waiting on a reply. Please, please...

Top one is an ambient air valve. There's a ton of info on this if you search for the thread "engine bay buzzing noise"

Thanks Wayne... from your diagram, would you suppose that #31 is my black vaccum unit in picture 1 and #28 in the diagram is my strange hose with 90 degree bends in picture 2? They both appear to be connected.

PSJoyce... you are correct... ambient air valve in pic #1. However, after following the thread you suggested, I never really saw where the top and front air hoses go to or come from.

Okay... studied the diagram and ended up hooking the hose in pic #2 above (one end was already connected to my throttle body) to the large diameter port on the side of the air valve in pic #1.
I had a cloth covered hose (not hooked to anything) that looked like the correct diameter and connected one end of it to the small port on the top of air valve and the other end to the bottom port of the two small ports on the back of the throttle body that are in very close proximity. Couldn't really see this in the diagram above, but that's where I had an opening in the area the diagram suggested. Would love for someone to verify. May be cranking it up tonight for the first time in many months since the engine pull. Thanks. -Troy
