Exclamation Need Immediate Help - ID this part!

I am working on a rebuild - Another Engine Rebuild Thread - 80 3.0L

Tonight I cleaned my fuel injectors and was in the process of cleaning my dizzy when I discovered this spring loaded part on the floor.

I took the brackets off of the dizzy that hold the cap and the metal clip that holds the electrical connector. The metal clip fell to the floor and right next to it I found the mystery part.

Can someone please ID it for me? I don't think it is part of the fuel injector b/c I checked them - initally I thought it was part of the nozzle.

Looks like a valve stem for a schraeder valve. Check your tire air pressure.

+1 on the schraeder valve. I think some are used on fuel rails for taking pressure readings. Not 100% positive on that though.

Wow ... you guys seem to be on the right track.

All tires have valve. Thought that it could have come from my oil line purge valve. Just checked it and it is ok.

Hmmm ... interesting.

Maybe it was stuck in the tread of a tire and happened to fall out in your garage. Been to a service dept. latley.
