Can someone run an Engine Number?
Would be most grateful if someone can tell me any relevant details (like year and model) about Engine #6133859. It is not the original motor for my 73.5 911T (now a 911R/RS/RSR Tribute car), afaik. It is a Mag case 7R motor...
Many thanks, Grant |
That's a 73.5' CIS T motor.

From the info that I have it is from a73 911T U.S. CIS with a side note that U.S. 911T switched from mechanical to K-Jetronic (CIS) fuel injection in January 1973
Engine Serial # 's start at 6133001 thru 6136092 there were 1,944 911T coupes produced this is all the info i have but someone else on the forum may have more |
The tables in the back of my book (from which info I got from Porsche) show this as a 1973 1/2 CIS 2.4 magnesium case, engine type 911/91.
Hope this helps, Wayne |
Thanks! Sounds like that is the original case for my car then. I always thought it was from a 2.7 CIS car.
|
Nope, I would highly doubt that. It was somewhat common to take these 2.4 cases and bore them out to 2.7 displacement to give a good boost in HP, so that sometimes throws people off...

Anyone know when they switched from the 5R to the 7R case?
