Will 15x8's fit on the rear of a lowered '74? Thanks. Pat

I've seen one or two cars where this was made to fit. However, it looks really weird in my opinion, and the tire is pulled back and pinched. The narrow 1974 fenders don't work too well for accommodating this wheel. Adding flares fixes the problem of course...

I changed my 15x6 to 15 x7 and get a bit of rubbing with Yokohama ES-100 (fairly narrow tire) 205/55-15s and get a slight bit of rubbing on the fender lip with my lowered '74. Raising the car slightly or rolling the fenders would probably alleviate the problem...but I see no way to go to 15x8 without some real tweaking...considering how much difference going from 6's to 7's made.

The best I could ever do was 7x15s with 225/50-15s all around. It's a great set-up but requires the right amount of camber, spring rates, etc.
