need help buying 74 911 oilpressure at 20 when driving good or bad?

Hi I am intersted in a 74 911, I went see it today and it worried me that the oilpressure gauge, barely made it over 20 also when reving it?

Is this normal? Also the car dripped a little oil which is common but it dripped down on the heater boxes so the car smokes heavyly after it was turned off. is this a problem?

thanks

20 what? At what rpm? Are you talking about two bar? Need more info.

The general rule is that the numeral on the stock oil-pressure gauge should, when warm, pretty much match the rpm. i.e. at 3,000 you should have 3 bar, at 5,000 5 bar, etc.

Then you have either an oil-pump problem, a gauge problem or a sender problem. Probably a bad pump.

The Gage on a '74 should read up to 145 psi. At the minimum you should see 10 psi for every 1000 rpm's when warm, higher when cold. 15 25 all the time? is there enough oil in the tank? Oil leaking on the heat exchangers, where? near the flywheel on the right side? Oil cooler leak maybe.

Fixing it requires splitting the case and replacing the oil pump, as far as I know. Not trivial.
