Porsche Engines & Services unrendered

The purpose of this original posting was achieved. As a General Rule, It takes years to develop trust and credibility, but it only takes 5 minutes to loose it all.

Porsches are great cars. Mines are in my garage with No Engines and Transmissions. Rather then turning this into a circus. Ive edited by original ad. Peace to all. Ive been promised for the 100th time that my engine will completed. Lets hope for the best.

- Herman.

Cue the "I once had a satisfactory deal with Jimmy, therefore he must be a great guy to everyone" supporters in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

Will this "beware of Jimmy" and "Jimmy is great" battle ever end?

Cheers

cantdrv55 08-07-2008 09:17 PM

Not again.

the 08-07-2008 09:17 PM

Actually, I think it will.

I've always had suspicions of mobile type mechanics... It's unfair competition to the local LEGITIMATE repair shops. I haven't said anything as the battle has continued for and against this guy... But the initial post above is nothing short of ridiculous.
He's my friend - a real nice guy and does great work, but I don't trust him, and neither should you???
When I had an aircraft repair shop, we always used to run these guys off the airport.
To me, it's not fair that these guys can come in and play on the same field, but not by the same rules... Little things like liability/fire/theft insurance, workman's compensation insurance, business license, county sales tax, county business tax, income taxes (state & fed), hazardous waste generator permit, etc... Need I continue?

Guy is 15k in the hole and you lend him another $275 last month?

Nobody here needs a mobile mechanic - anything a guy can do out of a van can be done at home with the help from this board.

Aside from the suspension shop and the smog guy, my cars have never seen a mechanic. I even bring the wheels to the tire store - no car. :D

george, i will never ever change a fuel filter on a chevy truck again. they strategically place it so fuel runs down your arm and into your hair. $50 bucks is well spent.

hey, you going pig hunting this year?

Vash you weeny. As long as you don't smoke while playing with gas, who cares?
George, same here. No mechanics for me.

LOL on that website.

Jeff asked "will it ever end?"

It just did.

Plavan 08-08-2008 07:59 AM

Man o Man. Didn't we go down this road 6+ months ago with Jimmy? Good luck on getting your engines/tranny and money back.....I really hope the best comes from this. I have enemies that do less to me and I would never call them friends. Why in the world would you lend him MORE money????
Fool me once...
Fool me twice...
Fool me a third time????

Yeah, likely this thread killed his business, what was left of it anyway. I've been in touch with him privately for some weeks now...he owes me money too. Interestingly, the web site with the lien on it is NOT his present web address... Also interesting that one of the paid advertisers is a rehab facility. ???? :(

He did wonderful work for me a few years back and knows his stuff. I just dunno what happened after he moved to LA.

Jimmy, I hope you get back on track soon. You are good a what you do...you just lack a sense of responsibilty....duhhh

jh225 08-08-2008 08:40 AM

Sorry, but I don't get what the seizing of his website is going to do.

If he wanted to, he could just build another website, register it, and start over.

You think this could explain anything?

Well, I dunno if he'll do that but what value is the web page to anyone else ...

And yeah, (re: next post down) I think that the rehab advertiser might mean something. duhhhh.

No ****! I was being sarcastic.

Anytime a business owner asks you for gas money, it's time to stop talking to that person. It's a sign that they have made some seriously bad choices.

Drdogface 08-08-2008 04:03 PM

Mike,

Sorry, missed the sarcasm (I'm old ya' see) Mea culpa, amigo... sometimes can't tell w/o the smilies <GG>
