Question about FREE miniature Cayenne Models...

As many of you know, Pelican gives out free models with orders, using our WebCertificate system. In a nutshell, the WebCertificates are mailed out at random about five weeks after your order ships. Some are for a percentage off, and some are for keychains, magnets, sunglasses, etc. Sometimes we have really cool stuff that we buy on clearance from Porsche.

We just bought about 3500 scale models from Porsche on clearance to include in our WebCertificate program. Some are really, really, really cool GT3 RS models and other sports cars. We also got a bunch of Porsche Cayenne (the truck) models. The question that we're trying to figure out here is how well received would a free Cayenne model be? Is it worth including in our program? Or, should we just donate the models to the toys-for-tots type programs? (kids love cars, no matter what they are). We'll probably do a combination of both, but I would like to ask your opinion on this topic.

Thanks,

Wayne

Donate the toy in the name of the person who buys a bunch of stuff...

I would view getting that as a "re-gifting."

I would assume that you got stuck with a large order of them, or got them as a promotion from Porsche, or something like that, and were just looking to unload them. A little cheesy.

I'd donate them to kids, if you keep some, only send them out only to Cayenne parts orderers, if there is such a thing.

So what you're saying is Porsche had to resort to incentives to unload its excess inventory of scale model Cayenne trucks?

You should have told them, I will take them all if I can post your parts catalog? But then I don't think you can tell them anything!

can you make it an option when you redeem your cert. that the toy is given to charity?

pretty cool that you're willing to do that btw!

I would love a real Porsche model and really hate getting one of those trucks. Re-gifting is a terrific description!

That is a fantastic idea, hadn't thought about that angle. I would have to word it very carefully.

We got a lot of other cool models that are coming in the Webcerts soon - they are not all pepperwagons...

Imola Red...that's the BMW color I think you may be referring to, it's gorgeous!

The web cerificates are always welcome with me.

( I recently placed an order, and forgot to use the certificate I had until it was too late. Doh!)

While I have no good thoughts about the Cayenne, a free web certificate is something I'm not going to complian about.
