RoninLB 08-10-2008 06:20 PM

are these being mounted on a car ?

RWebb 08-10-2008 06:29 PM

are they polished or chromed?

Geronimo '74 08-10-2008 09:39 PM

They are 7 and 8" and they are not chromed!
I do not know what the correct name for the process is, in German they call it "Hochglanzverdichten" or "hoogglans verdichten" in Dutch. It's like polishing but the process, which is not manual but mechanical, uses vibration to create a closed aluminum surface. The endproduct should be more resistant to corrosion ( but I'm still waiting to verify this). Periodic cleaning is of course needed.

Here is a film which shows the process ( in the end) (again in German)
