930 Heater flapper box help???
I have a 1985 930 and as I have the engine out I am sorting out the heating.
I have attached two photos of the flapper boxes and I need to know if they are the correct type for a 930? Do the flexible orange heater hoses connect direct to the flapper boxes as I have shown in the photos or is there some other parts? Any help or advice would be gratefully received... My orange SCAT tubing just connects to that part, just like you have. I would lube those springs and other parts real well while you have them available.

The left hand box may be a later (87-on) replacement part but it should work. If you have automatic heat, the elbow part needs to have a provision for the sensor that tells the controller the temperature of the air passing through the valve.

It appears that you have flappers from two years, which one is for what year I don't know.
The left one should have a small tube welded on it that the control cable housing goes into. The right one has that tube on the hose clamp. Either work just the orange tube is a different length. |
Thanks for the help it is appreciated.
The left hand box has a hole in it for the auto heat sensor. Have a look at the Porsche drawing it shows the item I have circled in red. I don't have this on my 930. Should I? Regards Steve http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1218469725.jpg |
That's what was on there originally. Yours looks like it has been replaced and the later ones look like the one that is now on your car.
