Wiper arm reverse question

Being from Aus and having RHD my wiper arms are already reversed from most of your points of view, however I want to reverse mine to the passenger side (your drivers side). Question is for those of you who have done it is it just the reverse of what is in Wayne's 101 book or not? Also one arm is bent and one is straight. Do I reverse those as well?

You have to pull the wiper motor assembly and reposition the actuator arm 180 degrees.

The wiper arm assy. can remain. Remove, then reverse the actuator arm. Then reverse the arm positions so they're a mirror image of the before photo. As I recall, the required bend in my arm was not in that orientation, but try it first and observe the glass contact pattern (with wet glass).

Caution: Don't operate the wipers with the trunk lid in the open position. Possible collision and paint damage.

Dave the wiper arm that is now in front of you is bent so that it does not come in to your line of sight. You need an arm that is bent the other way so that in the parked position it lays out of the line of sight of the passenger.ie: from inside the car now the drivers side wiper is bent down if you just change the wiper blades that you have now the bend will be in exactly the wrong place it will not sit down parralell to the bottom of the windscreen. You need to get a wiper blade from one of the american imports I would try Aporsha part in Melbourne for the correct blade for your purpose.
Regards,
Richard.

Thanks Richard, I had a sneaking suspicion I would need a different arm. Other than that no problems?

FWIW, I bent the factory arm in a vise (w/cushion jaws) to the correct angle.

What's the "other vehicle" wiper arm that's suggested as a direct replacement?

The wiper arm is eminently bendable. You don't need a new one.

Sherwood,
The replacement arm that I refered to is the drivers side arm from any U S car. For you guys in the states it would be the drivers side arm off any right hand drive Porsche 911.
Dave, As we would say here in OZ to do the change is a piece of p**s.
Richard.

I don't understand why you're doing this Dave!
