Clutch linkage bang! then partial clutch

I was driving home last night and depressed the clutch on my 911 trans. I heard a loud clunk and could barely get it into 5th w/o grinding it. The clutch pedal did not seem to return as high as it did previously. I got it home by taking routes that did not require me to stop. Back in the garage, I couldn't get it to go into 1rst.

I havn't gotten under the car yet but I'm not sure how the clutch cable on a 911 trans. can pop out of place. Two years ago, I had the clutch pivot fork snap and that totally made the clutch inop. Is it out of the ordinary that the clutch adjuster partially comes out of whack?

Partial Clutch

Check the clutch pedal roll pin. It has probably broken. Time for a pedal cluster rebuild!

Happened to me last month, went the clutch cable route first ended up being the roll pin and the cluster needed a rebuild. It is not too technical just time consuming.

When that happen on my "84" it was the clutch fork braking, however there was no snap... Not a good thing!

ok then I have removed the pedal board, popped off the accelerator pedal linkage and have loosened the clutch cable. My problem now is that I only can get about a 1/2 turn on the cable before it binds up and can't be turned further. Any suggestions?

I've got the back end up right now, so do i release the end by the fork pivot so the cable can spin?
