Black side flare (gravel) stickers for SC
Hi all, has anybody had experience in putting the black side flare gravel stickers (spats) onto their 911sc - the ones that sit on the flare, if so what are the proper clearances and what is the best method of applying...Thanks all

i put them on my car. it was easy. you put them on using a method very similar to window tinting. i used a tiny bit of soap in a water bottle. i spritzed everything. then when you stick the thing onto the car, you can slide it about for the perfect fit. once it is in place, i just squeeged out the moisture and they stuck solid.

I needed to fashion a custom shape that was "slightly" larger than stock...to cover a nasty stone chip.
I used Ray Allen's Wing walk...an aircraft supply piece for aircraft wings. http://www.rayallencompany.com/products/accessories.html works great...looks great..cheap...fine grain finish with proper thickness, like the original. Not too thin like a vinyl sheet.

ONEHUNDREDTHIRTYDOLLARS? Even at AU$ thats utterly hucked in the fead. Try our host's stone guards: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_BDYext_pg8.htm#item34
US $15.25 a piece - and if you ask me, these prices already contain a solid Porsche markup. |

Make sure the area is spotless undernieth as any debris will show thru. Pull out the lower black rocker molding. This will allow a nice clean look as part of the guard will fit under the molding. Before removing the adhesive backing place the stone guard on the car where you want it. Put small pieces of tape around the parameter of the guard marking the area. spray/wipe the area with soapy water as suggested. Remove the backing and place the stone guard in the marked area. With the soapy water you can move until you have it perfectly placed. Use a squeegee to smooth out the guard. Don't be alarmed if after drying there are tiny air bubbles. Just take a pin, pop a hole in the bubble and push the air out from the bubble. You'll never know they were there.
Good luck!!
