Seeking clever after-market seat mounts
I'm looking at installing a rigid after-market seat onto the stock movable track. The seat would be a bottom, not side, mount. Because it doesn't fold forward, I'll lose needed access behind the seats. (The driver's seat is fixed in position and doesn't fold.) Anyone have a clever way to install such a seat so it can be easily removed, while still retaining access rearward?

I have fixed back seats as well. I have not found any way to access the back seat easily.
I am curious as to a solution, too.

Just got an email from a friend pointing out that the GTS seat people who sell the Avus and Nurburgring sell a tilting bracket!

I do not have this concern but the only solution I can think of is a hinge mounted at the front bolt down point and some type of easily operated hold down clamp at the rear.
A visit to the McMaster Carr Catalog may help you locate some suitable hardware.

Do share.
I got to thinking about the concept. I saw a speedboat once that had a seat bracket that used a "hitch" pin to hold it in the down position. You simply removed the pinand the seat tilted forward but would still allow the seat to move back and forth. Looks to be only for the 69-73 cars but I'm someone creative could make it work for the later cars. http://www.classiccarseats.com/brackets.php

As I do not have this issue, all I have is the grand idea but your desciption is in line with what I am thinking about. I would expect that the bits are available in the McMaster Catalog. I would think you will need to do something in the front of the seat to allow the hinge to function and the rear to allow access to the pin. This where the "heavy" thinking would come into play.

I like the hitch pin idea. Removing the stock seat is an ugly job I'd like to sidestep in the future if possible.

My work truck's seat slides fore and aft and the seat bottom folds forward. I can't access it on the weekend but I will look at the setup on Monday.
I think Brian and Ben could come up with something with their skills.

I could CNC laser or plasma cut some sample parts if you folks have a drawing of what you want.. I would think it is doable though I imagine the liabilty may be huge to produce a part of such importance. think mid 70's 442 swivel seats ,scary when going sideways in a 500hp 455 powered one that the swivel does not lock.
