Fiberglass repair in the Bay Area. Recommendations?

A while ago I hit a tire that was laying in the middle of my lane on the Bay Bridge. No avoiding it. Bumper is damaged, but structurally sound. I need a recommendation for good quality fiberglass repair in the S.F. Bay Area. Thanks!

That's an easy fix with plastic filler and a hand sander....

There are stress cracks that need to be reinforced from the back side and then ground out from the front side and refilled with resin and fibers. Most independent body shops can do this, but how thorough they are is the question.

So, you quest for a good shop is extremely valid.

Do it yourself removal repair and pre will save some $$$.

If you remove the bumper I am happy to help you repair and prep.

As for painting, I heartily recommend Yeaman Auto Body at 101 and Embarcadero. If you want the whole thing done instead of DIY repair and prep, Yeaman can is still a good bet. Ask for Scott Yeaman. Scott's place is awesome and they have tons of experience with fiberglass.

If you must have a place further south, then go to Bodystyle in San Jose. 880 and Brokaw. Cecil Beach.

Oh yeah. Even further south... in Campbell, Jerry Woods Enterprises/Smart Racing Products. Ask for Rich. They do tons of fiberglass on race cars, including 935's, 962, sna myriad other factory cars.

All of these businesses are owned and run by PCA members, are familiar with fiberglass and racing, and all have excellent reputations.

It's gonna get whacked again...right after you do the expensive fix. I pull mine every 6 months....get yourself a rattle can from paint scatch dot com or any of the other online guys....fix it will filler, learn how to use a rattle can and then fix it again later.

3-4 fixes will cost ya fifty bucks. One shot at a body shop....$300 plus a reach around...trust me, I do this on TV.

Thanks Mike. I'll give Yeaman's a call.
