Does bypass pipe or pre-muffler require changing chip SW?
I am considering installing a pre-muff or bypass pipe on my 88 911. The PO installed an APE chip and BB exhaust. I called the Autothority guys today, who told me that they could verify that my chip is correct for this setup and, if not, would re-calibrate it for $300. I was warned that if I don't do this, I could blow the engine.
Anyone here BTDT? Does this make sense, or am I just risking $300 for nuthin'? Phil |

I am not sure if your $300 will worth anything, but if you use a cat bypass on a stock chip, you would blow the engine twice?

Why pay $300 for an Autothority chip when you can get a Steve Wong chip for only $50 more?

I am putting a Dansk Premuff on mine and Steve said that either his SW stock or premuff chip will work. The premuff chip is designed to be optimized for that setup but he had no problem letting me buy his stock chip if I was concerned about it.
