Question Correct fuel pump for a 69T

The PO fitted a Fucet pump up under the steering cover in the past.

I'm trying to sort out the fuel system at the moment in my resto

It's fitted with Webber 40's

The car is a 69 T Euro Spec car. originally fitted with a sporto and latter changed to a 5 speed 901.

Depending on which book i read i get differing results.

Thanks in advance Tony.

Mine came with a Hardi pump in the engine compartment. If for restoration to factory specs, that's the location. If for normal operation, relocate to the front with a more modern pump design.

Thanks Sherwood,

What's the reason for shifting, vapor lock?

Does your hardi run a return line to the tank, the only reference that i have in the factory manual is for the Bendix.

Basically, it's easier for a pump to push rather than suck.

It's also easier to locate a leak if the supply line is under pressure.

Vapor lock issues are not common on a normal 911.

There's no return line on a '69T. It's a so-called "dead-head" system.

Hope this helps,
Sherwood

Is this what we're talking about?

Do you know if i'd need to run a regulator with this pump?

It's been a long time since I've had one in my car; I forget what my Hardi looked like, but that looks close. If that's it, it should produce the needed pressure for the Webers; no FPR is needed.
