What is the hose behind the pedal cluster wooden panel?

What is the hose behind the wooden panel, cover the pedal luster? It is back, about the size of AC hose, running from upper firewal to below. Actually the wooden panel is jamming it to the metal firewall.

The hose behind the brake pedal in the pic?

Isn't it the vacuum line for the MC with vacuum assist?

Thats the vacuum hose connecting your intake manifold to your brake booster.

yes, that's what I was looking at. So it's nothing major then? My wooden panel is jamming on it and put a nice mark on it, not cut but mark only. I was worry of if it's carries anything important as fuel or AC, etc
Thanks guys.

I think all the A/C lines pass along the underside of the car on the sides. I have no idea where the fuel lines run .

Fuel lines run down the center tunnel (under the shifter, e-brake...). They are pretty safe. The fuel lines around the engine are a different story...

My garage smells like fuel. The tank is out of the car. I want steel lines anyways.

be careful. I heard ss line is hard to crimp right, easy to leak. And also the ss lines on the outer lay can cut into your hoses/wires after time.

That line provides vacuum to your brake booster. A minor kink shouldnt be an issue but if you
1. kink it so no vacuum is applied then your booster won't be helping you much or
2. if you puncture it or disconnect it you will have a major vacuum leak which is a problem for your motor.

I've recently replaced my fuel lines with braided ones. You will want to drop your transmission and motor to do this. Be sure to zip-tie the new lines up and away from your throttle linkage.

I suggest not having any connections in your lines in the tunnel. Connections are the most likely failure points so you dont want them inside the cabin, even in the tunnel. Have a continuous run on the feed and return side through the tunnel to the pump and tank.

You dont necessarily need ss fuel lines. I replaced mine due to flow requirements but if you are stock or less than 400hp you probably don't have any need to increase the line sizes. Also, those hard lines are much smaller OD so are quite compact and durable as-is.

Well, I am upgrading to a race cell and need longer lines anyways. The work will be done by a professional with stock, or similar, fittings. Say that I upgrade to 964 cams and an MSD ignition. Do you think I will need more fuel? In the future I may upgrade to a 3.6 .
