Newbie Introduction

Hi gang,

New to these forums...I just purchased a 1982 911SC Targa...something I've lusted over since about the 10th grade, probably not unlike most of us here! It's Pacific Blue Metallic, all stock with only 51K miles. It has the pop-off valve installed in the airbox, but that's it. I know I should upgrade the chain tensioners and that's on my list, but for now, I plan on simply going over the car to familiarize myself with everything and generate the aforementioned "list" of things to address.

While this is my first 911, I'm not new to Porsche ownership as I have a 1992 968 Cabriolet that's slowly becoming a garage queen and a 85.5 944 for the daily grind with 241,000 and going strong.

I tend to lurk more than I post, but when I have something to add, I definitely will. I also frequent Rennlist and 968forums.com. I'm looking forward to learning about my SC and making new acquaintences here on Pelican.

Now that the formalities are over, somebody please tell me how to get my emergency brake light back on! SmileWavy See my first post here:

Nice car! I just sold my early 85 944. boy do I miss it!

Thanks for the compliements thus far...the picture is how I bought it...can't wait to start cleaning all the nooks and crannies...then I'll post some real pics!

MELO, the 944 is an easy driver in traffic. On the other hand, the 968 clutch will give your leg a good work out in heavy traffic.

I really liked the reliability and cheap parts. The handling was really good ( predictable) as well.
Basically no one could tell if it was something new or not. Only I knew it was a brown Pinto with a blue door!

She looks nice, I like nice girls too. Will you tell us how do you manage treating her right in Va ;) ?

Do you take the top off first every time? The sound is something, yes? How about a group pic :)

An 82 SC with only 51K?! I'm jealous!
Looks beautiful.
