Got the first tierod off. When I try to match the length from the old to the new turbo tierod I run out of adjustment if I used the included spacer.
Without the spacer the new turbo tierods appear to be the perfect length. I am betting there is a reason the new turbo tierod kit from pelican includes a spacer.... so I am hesitant to install without it. Pictures on the way

Is this the 88 you are working on?
I think the spacer is for cars 74 plus as the early cars had a longer steering rack. Don't quote me on that. I used the spacers on my 75. When having it professionally aligned, the mechanic noted that there is less adjust ability on the turbo tie rods so it is necessary to zero out the rack. In order to safely drive to my alignment shop, I started with the wheels as straight as I could by driving straight into my shop. That only helps so much because when I leaned on one while removing it, they both turned ever so slightly to the steering wheel lock position. I aligned from that position. I was unable to compare the old length to the new because the old ones were so difficult to remove that I removed the ends before removing the entire rod. Once I had the new turbo tie rods on, I simply eyeballed it and used a piece of string to get them close. You can tell when one is obviously toe'd in or out too much. Don't forget loctite on the new rods when threading into the rack.
