For all intents and purposes once you put the 6 in a 912 you essentially have a 911. The uber purists will say no its just a converted 912. I would go for it.

The 69 912 has the same brakes and suspension as the 69T. I am pretty sure the 912 will not have a rear sway bar so you will want to pull the torsion bars and sway bars off your parts car as well.

Good luck.

Oh yea I guess it goes without saying get the oil tank, guages, and trans too. The 912 trans has real short gears and will live just fine behind the 6 but it will be very rev happy. Makes for sweet track gears but not too good for highway driving.

Man sounds like a fun project. I would do it in a heart beat if the price was right on the donor and the 912.

I have done a few deals with Joe he's been very fair.

As far as your swap, if are you are installing your running gear into the 912 chassis, then that's what it will be, a '69 912 with 911 motor and trans.

The #s belong to the chassis.

I have to agree with the above. The value of you car will be little more than that of a stock 912. I would take to front clip off the 912 and weld if onto your chassis.

However, 912's are bringing substantial $ these days in good condition. I would say that if your intent is a hot rod ish car then there is no difference at all. I have seen VGC 912's bring in the low to mid 20K and VGC 911T's are in the high 20's to low 30's.

However, a targa is a different storry I would be surprised if a VGC 911t targa brought much more than a 912. Also, one that has had the front end welded on would be lucky to bring mid teens ....

I sold my 67 912 -> 911 conversion a couple of years ago and have regretted it almost from the day I sold it. It sold for 15K and that was before the prices went nuts. Does one digit stamped in a vin mean that much... Not to me.
