Carbon Fibre panels

Has anyone used Getty Design or MA Shaw carbon panels such as there Carbon hood, engine cover and aero mirrors?

I am thinking of running clear coated carbon panels on my backdated Carerra 3.0

Have any of you good folks run these panels and would you recommend them?

I don't have them, but I have seen a few MA Shaw CF bumpers etc. and they are very well-made parts. I have a few friends running MA Shaw parts and they say they are some of the best fitting parts out of the box and don't require a ton of fitting (although every FRP or CF part will require a bit). Sounds like a great car!

I don't have those parts either but do have Getty front and rear IROC bumpers, and the fit and finish were outstanding. Both companies are highly thought of by people in a position to know, like Steve Weiner, who uses their piece to make high-performance and competition cars for clients.

Getty/MA Shaw have the same parts supplier. Their products are top notch, a few guys over on Rennlist have pretty much all carbon panels without paint - and they fit is near perfect. I'm looking into the carbon doors for myself and will only get them from these guys due to my research.

Correct

I thought I heard at one point that Getty and MA Shaw were brother in laws or something crazy like that.

Anways, yes, they are both great quality. I would stay away from anyone else in the states selling Carbon Fiber unless you love to wet sand or its strictly a race application.

Best of Luck,
Bryan

Got a Getty CF hood on my car, it's good. I had to wait some time for it, they had problem last year with raw material but the wait was worth it. They even give me another part I had ordered free because I had to wait.

Getty CF hood, minimal fit issues, only some leveling top corner with some block sanding.

Super light!

I am using Getty CF doors and I am quite happy with them. They do require some work to get correct, but these are race parts so fit and finish is more a matter of your standards. ie fine for a track car work needed for a high level street car.

Thanks for all the responses and pics. I am going to place my order for the parts near x-mas time.

My car is backdated running 'R' lights, I am going to paint it in the original Arrow blue and run the front and rear lids in a UV clear coat.

hopefully the car will be lighter and look meaner.

Is an all raw CF exposed pannel car a possability or dose the need to "fit" the pannels keep this from being a practical idea?

Bumpers, hoods, doors & fenders?

Could save some on painting cost?

While CF looks great not all peices will have the 'grain' line up the same if they were not made with that mind. When a raw CF car is done as a planed build all the grain is alined and it looks great.

It will still need to be cleared and fit and finish of parts aquired from different suppliers could also be an issue.

I have MA Shaw hood, doors, decklid, front & rear bumpers, and engine shroud & tin. I think it's good stuff!
