fuel filter replacement 911

This may seem ignorant, but when replacing my 911 fuel filter should i use teflon tape? I am resusing the "fittings" is this a problem?

No tape, are you removing the fittings off of the old filter? Filter should have fittings on it, just connect your steel lines to it, turn key on and check for leaks. Remember the system holds pressure best to do this with cold engine. If you let it sit over night the pressure will be reduced, you will need to bleed the air out once new filter is installed.
