That's great! But - of course - it will depend on who is going to cater.

It is a different Rennlist now... I am likely going to let my membership run out. Before, I thought it was a great way to give a little help and thanks to John D. for hosting the site (and I gained a lot of knowledge and help). Now it is just a faceless commercial enterprise whose value proposition (access to the OT and for sale forums) is just not worth the $ to me. Having said that, and despite accepting advertising $ from Motor Meister, I will still visit.

Cool

Just thought this was a good time and place to say THANKS! Shortly after I purchased my first 911, I ran across the MM ads in a magazine. I called MM to get information on shipping my engine to them to have it hopped up a bit. But, in the process of researching Porsche mods, I came across the Pelican site and this forum. Needless to say, after reading the results of my Motor Meister search here, I promptly trashed any ideas I had of letting them touch my project. So, you guys saved me a bundle of cash and frustration---For that, I am thankful!

I think there are probably a lot more people like me than you think, people who have not patronized MM directly because of discussions here. So, your efforts are not in vain.

It speaks volumes about their character (and by extension, that of their moderators). Or lack thereof.

Isn't Rennlist owned by a corporation? Corporations aren't chartered or required to have character, social responsibility, or to "do the right thing", only to make money.

MM has been on Rennlist for years, way before they sold out. I let my membership expire.

Sounds like there is some history there that I am ignorant of...

Why does this seem like a strange post to me?

Don't flame me ... just saying that I am skeptical. Feels like someone is asking for me bank pin number or something. Not sure why.

One can only assume you mean "a company that also does cheap 911-engine rebuilds." Good luck.

I was thinking more along the lines of "The Bunny Ranch"

You still get screwed - but at least you leave with a smile on your face...

Hell, if there's a market for such a company, I'm in! I've never rebuilt a Porsche engine, but I'm sure willing to take someone's money in trade for my lack of knowledge and skills!
