Check it out! 911R at Callas Rennsport...
The cool stuff continues for the guys at Callas Rennsport. Aside from the normal shop dogs like the 959, the 996 Cup car, and even the old GT1 from days ago, Tony and his crew just received a 911R that has been apparently stored for quite a few years. There are a number of issues with this car (can you find them in the photos?) that Tony and his crew will be working on.
Tony also mentioned that if anyone wanted to stop by to take a look at it, they were more than welcome. Callas Rennsport 19080 Hawthorne Blvd. Torrance, CA 90503 310-370-7038 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -Wayne

Very cool - where can I get one of those air boxes for the front cowl - looks like a one off piece - very sweet.

Wayne,
Thanks for the photos. The biggest problem I see is that it's not in my garage. That, and the Flash Gordon decal has to go. JR |

I saw that car at Lime Rock park last year. It was on a trailer and I remember the Flash Gordon stickers. Thought they looked kind of odd.

Well,
If we're going to pick it, I'd start with: Needs a shift knob. Ignition switch doesn't look original Seems to be some extra wiring Tires are junk Wheels need some cosmetic attention and a little paint Body panel fit isn't perfect Safety belts are nice, but probably past their useful life Handbrake needs adjusting Some of the trim items aren't original, but they don't look bad (seats, trunk strap) Wiper arms Gas filler cap Steering wheel Later style driver's floor board? Floor mats wrong Lug nuts Shift lever Air filters (I'd keep those) Rear 1/4 windows look like re-pops Front 1/4 windows look like re-pops Intake manifolds? Fuel lines? Side stripe is wrong and too high I've seen a lot worse than that on an R. That's a nice car. JR Last edited by javadog; 09-04-2008 at 01:10 PM.. |

Headlights... ? To my untrained eye those look like Bosch H4s instead of what I thought were supposed to be Cibies.

was the 906 engine twin plugged??? I think it was but am not sure...
is this supposed to be one of the 12, 1967 911 R's? or the 1972 production R's? cause the 67 shouldn't have the exterior oil fill cap, or the far left gauge .. i think...

How about the fact that it's stationary? That is SO wrong.

The engine was twin plugged. External oil filler and gauge are correct. Some cars lacked the gauge in the far left altogether. There were some differences from car to car. JR |

Yeah they have a cold air kit for venting back to the driver - the piece above looks like it weighs grams and is fiberglass. Would not be hard to make but -
