What are thees holes ?
I have an idle problem, could this be the reason ?
The engine is a 3.0 SC with 204 hp ( 930 / 10) from 1982. I was surprised to se these 2, probably drilled holes, you can see in the middle. ![]() |

If I don't know what it is I probably won't be of much help, but what is it? Secondly the holes look machined or molded that way and not drilled to me. We are talking of the 2 smaller ones obviously.

what is it ?
Sorry, I forgot to explain. I do not know how this part is called
but it is Rubber / plastic cap on top of the CIS. I have also a 2,4 cis engine from 1973 and there are no "extra holes" in that one. The holes are between the throttle body and the CIS air plate. regards John |

That doesn't look right. Seems like a major unmetered air leak!

idel problem solved
I plugged the holes and EUREKA the idle problems disappeared !
I do have a theory about the holes: the guy who sold me the crasched 911, from which i salvaged the engine, works as a drag race bike mechanic, so he would know how to install a Nos system. Can anyone tell me if these 2 wholes could have been used for this purpose ![]() |

It very easily have been for a single stage NOS set-up. One hole for the extra fuel, and one for the juice.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to come in through one of the throttle body vacuum ports instead of tapping the intake boot? Just curious.

I don't think that would have worked, going the vacuum port route , being the need for two spray nozzles. 1-fuel and 1 NOS.

Hope the PO was careful about the amount of boost. Sounds like you may have bought a car that was driven hard.
