Computer downloads in PPI

I am aware that you can download a history on a late model (996) 911, and in particular, evidence of a mechanical over-rev (downshifting to the wrong gear).

Does one just request a dump of everything and print it out?

How many pages would/ could this be?

Will it provide date, time and mileage when the "event" occurred?

What other things would you look for? For example, an airbag deployment might indicate an accident. Would a shunt that did not deploy the airbag also show up?

Is this info buried in pages of data or can it be indexed and/or brought to your attention by the shop doing the PPI?

I believe if the shop has a Porsche computer (I'm sorry, at the moment I can't remember what they are called), then they should be able to give you what you want. However, there is a time limit on data as I understand it.

I hope someone who has a shop and the computer can answer this definitively. Free bump.

BOSCH HAMMER or equivalent

FWIW, when I was looking at 996s I had read and was told that the shop could read the type I (redlining) and type II (mis-shift / mechanical) over-revs and the value it returned was the amount of cylinder firings the car had in the over-rev state. I'd assume there would be a max number that it can store before it stops logging however.
