3.0 htr update rant

Maybe it is me but every time I try to update my 911SCs by using non standard Porsche parts I run into trouble. I can usually get it to work but it is always a hassle. Today it was a heater backdate kit I bought from Parts Heaven. I don't blame them, it is their supplier who also probably supplies the same parts to others, our host even. I had to pound out a dent in the left side to make room for the distributor. On top of that it seems the heater inlet is the exact same size as the hose that is supposed to go on it. Very poor quality. Growl..........

Interesting. I just received my backdate parts and plan on installing them tomorrow. Guess I have some fun ahead of me.:(

even the factory part would require the "dent" on the drivers side duct when installing on a SC.

I believe john walker on the board can do the mod to make it with the half-moon cutout like the 930's have

They make a reduction coupler, sold by our host also, a piece of duct reducer, sheet metal ,that cost about $30 which is a rip off but it works, on my cab you need two, the woe's of owning a 25 year old porshe.
