Option
Kevin at Ultimate Motorwerks in Monroe, WA. He does the K27's, etc. May be a good option. He is busy, so turn around time may be an issue.
Hope this helps, Bryan |
So...sent it down, quick turn around....followed the directions and fired it up. Leaks and smokes. Sent a WTF email....stay tuned.

More specifically when blipping the throttle oil was getting into the exhaust turbine resulting in tons of white smoke out of the exhaust. You could see oil bubbling out of the turbine housing at the internal waste-gate lever shaft.
...but it was a fun day crawling under the car and putting the POS in..... SmileWavy |
Yeah, real fun....we ended up at the local schitz hole for some libations and got to see the prelims to a beyotch fight. Home now and doing a Tri-Tip on the Bar Bee....

It's leaking so much from the bearing that it's coming up through the wastegate actuator? Wow.
www.boostplanet.com has a pretty good reputation in a different car community. They don't list Volvo, but that model of turbo is probably shared with another car. |
OK...sent it back, got it back.....cleaned the oil supply line AND the return line. Ran it at idle then hard to burn the crap out of the cat.
No smoke, rock solid accell under boost. Turbo City stood behind it. Just had to lose all the coolant twice and the oil.....better than the $2500 dollar estimate at the dealer. Thanks for the rebuilder recommendation. Edit, just got off the phone with Turbo City and I gave them an "Attaboy"..... |
