Hello all!
I've been browsing for awhile until I finally got around to joining. Really new here, but I admire alot of the great crowd & not only hope to gain freinds & knowledge but to contribute in my own way to further continue the terrific comraderie in this Porsche world! I will post pics of my purchase (asap)of a 1982 911SC (factory parts, albeit obviously not a factory option in '82) turbo widebody with boxed rockers and vents (pretty tasteful) in Grand Prix White/Navy Blue interior, although I'm usually the reluctant one to choose such a flashy not OE one (seeing as when I was younger I was dedicated to always bringing back the originality to Porsches & trying to keep them that way). I turned 40 this year & was absent from Porsches for say about almost 5 full years, so I had to do something soon! So right around my birthday I bought this 911 site unseen in Oregon, you see I'm just outside the city of Toronto in Canada. My girlfriend thought I was a little crazy to fly down & just drive back in an unknown car (with NO cellphone!!) that's right, some hand tools & go! Well, it was absolutely awesome. the 911 & the trip!!! NO problems whatsoever (I put 4,820 kms) on the car and made it back in 4 half days. I won't hesitate to do it again (maybe this time shell come with me). So, I look forward to being part of this unique bunch, if you don't mind a conservative (vintage Porsche fanatic Canuck' ) here once in awhile! ![]() |

You're braver than me. I would have taken a cell phone.
Where do you live?

Hey, it was really no big deal, you can do it in a 911! Joining here made me a little nervous, not sure why, maybe because you guys always look like you know what you're talking about & really get things done, not that I don't but when I was younger I always had time for my cars not so the case anymore but I'm going to really try again (girlfriend & time permitting). I grew up in Mississauga but now reside in Brantford Ontario Canada. Where you from?

Very nice looking SC! I love the GPW. The polished petals and color coded wheels look great with the widebody and boxed rockers.

Welcome!
Was it an uneventful trip home? I picked up mine in RI and wheeled it 3000 miles home. No tools, but I had a cell and a contact # for an autohauler a co worker uses on a regular basis. Other than a transport truck trying to squish me against the bridge rail, no problems...
