What is the AFM made of?
The 90 degree rubber elbow which connects the AFM to the throttle body continues to blow off under boost, so I am going to have a hump welded onto the collar of the AFM to which the rubber elbow connects. For welding purposes, what is the Mass Air Flow Meter made out of? Cast Aluminum?
Thanks.

Certainly aluminum of some type. Just by looking at mine, I would bet it is cast. If so, it will take a really talented welder. I would be afraid to have someone try.

You are quite correct. The guy who did the welding for me is very talented (builds custom trucks from the chassis up), and he said it was like walking on a tight rope.

Try roughing up the surface with a medium sand cloth to allow the rubber more bite when clamped.
