Rebuilt ECM Unit
My car is not starting and I think I narrowed the problem down to the electrical control module under the drivers seat.
I have two questions. Is there any way to test the unit to see if that is the problem. I took it out of the car and went to the porsche dealership and they said they do not test them. Also, does anyone know where I can get my ECM unit rebuilt if that is in fact the problem |
I guess this is a Carrera? Are you sure it isn't the DME relay? If you really think the DME is bad try calling Lorenfb: http://www.systemsc.com/

Steve Wong also rebuilds them (911 chips .com

You might want to share a little more information on what year your car is. I assume a 3.2 Carrera. If that is the case the first culprit is the DME relay. It is a little black box the size of a matchbox under the drivers seat. They are known to go bad and cost around 25$ to replace.
The DME itself is the computer (silver box) also located under the drivers seat. Find someone with a Carrera and swap your DME into that car. That is the easiest test to verify whether that is your issue. The boxes can be bench-tested and rebuld. Contact me if you are interested. Ingo |
What have you done, thus far?
