Side rubber replacement help

G'day guys,
Is there a trick to replacing the side rubber mouldings?
The ones below the doors.
I dont think it will slide back on. It stops after about 12".
I haven't had any luck trying to clip the bottom into the groove either.
Cheers, Col.

Are you talking about the long rubber strip that goes between the body and the rockers? If so I recently had to do it. I started at the front of the car and slid it all the way back. I coated the inside of the rubber and the metal work in dish soap. It worked great. I did it with both the top and the bottom in their respective grooves.

KY works the best it is very slick, water based and evaporates.SmileWavy

It really works, I struggled for about two hours with dish soap trying to get those rubber strips on and, my neighbor told me to try some KY. 10 minutes later both sides were on.

....everyones doin it.

A few years ago I read an article that said K-Y jelly was the #1 most shoplifted item in stores, because no one wanted to go through the checkout line with it.

I just used a little white lithium grease on the runners before sliding the rubber strips on. Took about 10 seconds per side.

KY also works good for shaving.

Spray silicone works great. They'll be on in 30 seconds. No residue to contend with.
