912 with a 3.2 and 915?

Will a 3.2 and a 915 bolt right up to a 912 chassis?

Might want to check with some 912 folks, but I was told once that you have to fab the mounts for any six to fit in a 912.

I'm sure over on the 912registry someone has BTDT.

"Will a 3.2 and a 915 bolt right up to a 912 chassis?"

You'll need to modify the engine mounting brackets, install an oil tank and external cooler, upgrade the fuel supply system, electric system upgrades... More power = more brakes, etc...

Search fellow pelican: speedo He's converted an early 912 to a 911R... very detailed post of all the mods he's built into his project. Excellent coverage of the engine mount modifications, oil system and more... He's a real craftsman!

edit: Here's the link to speedo's project that covers this topic very well and beyond... did I say he's a real craftsman!!

SWB 911R...the beginning

Thanks guys for the comments, the reason I asked is because there is a 912 for sale locally missing an engine & trans and thought it would be nice to bolt up the 3.2 and 915. Not sure I'm ready for a large project right now.

find a 912 engine and tranny and just restore it. Allot of fun with the lowered powered cars. totally different then the 930's My dad has a 356 and that car is a ton fun although slower it sure is fun driving in. sorry did not answer you question but yes you could get it to work but with the current prices of 912's on the rise it might be a big mistake as they are becoming quite valuable

If the price is right and the tub is in good shape you can have great fun with a 912!
