New Brake Master Cylinder Has Only One Terminal - How do I stop the blinking light?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me how to stop the blinking brake light. I replaced the master cylinder and the brake pressure switch on the new one has only one terminal. The old one had two. I have tried to jumper the two wires and it did not work. Thanks for the help. Michael |
Not sure on a 74, but a blinking brake light might be the emergency brake warning. Try releasing the emergency brake or adjust the e-brake swith.

Thanks
I'll check that. I am pretty sure that the master cylinder pressure switch also causes the flashing as a warning that brake pressure has decreased.
Thanks, Michael |
pull the wire off. done. ya don't need a light to tell you that the brakes feel funny.

I agree with John.
The useful warning light is the “Low fluid level” using a later brake fluid reservoir cap. Just like the oil level, the electric indicator is no substitute for physically checking the level regularly. Best, Grady |
