SC Tachs
I am currently upgrading my '73T from the stock 2.4 with a 3.0 out of an '83 SC. It is my understanding that I will need to change the tach as well. My question is...does it have to come out of an'83 due to the CIS with lamda or will one out of an '80 work. Many thanks in advance for all of the advice & help. Kurt

I'm 50% sure the original will actually work. I'm not sure the lambda box actually does anything to the tach signal, other than monitor it for its own purposes. Lots of people kluge things together with their SC tachs, using combinations of coils, MSD boxes, etc. I would just try it first.
Are you transplanting the entire 3.0 CIS, lambda box, etc? I started down the same road you are on but went with Webers and MSD and am happy I did. |
SC Tachs
Thanx for the thoughts on the tach. I am planning on running the CIS at this time & was planning on adding a MSD. I have lots to do still & I can always swap out the tach last.

Kept the original tach (made in '73) from my '74 when I had an '83 3.0 installed.
