Warm up regulator lowering pressure
Ive read alot of threads where people have lowered the control pressure (cold) from 32-38 psi (2.3-2.7 bar) at 75F (25C) to 14 psi, (1 bar) to get the car to start.
Are they masking some other problem?> I am down to 20 psi and its sputtering but not starting and I have almost exhausted fixing or replacing stuff. I need to recheck spark, it was fine recently. |

They are adjusting their cold pressure to bring the WUR back into factory spec, not to mask another problem. Get a Bentley and see what the specs are for cold and hot pressure for your WUR and set it there using the appropriate gauges. If you still have a problem after verifying correct warm and cold pressures your problem is elsewhere.

yes, i believe they are. first, there is a reason it is out of spec. could be a dirty screen on the WUR. i also believe the bi-metal goes bad and does not bend as much when they get old so people try and compensate for it. it may fix it short term, but eventually it will need to be replaced.
second, if your car has the thermo time valve, it may be bad. it lowers the control pressure(CP) to 1bar when it is cold by blocking the vacuum to the WUR.
