Smile Interior Upgrade for '83 911SC- advice required

Hello All - I am new to this thread and this is my first post!

I have an 83 911SC which is in lovely condition - only thing i dislike is her interior. I feel that it is 'dated' and rather daggy (not to mention an awful colour ).

I'd like to update the interior so that she looks modern and sleek inside - i don't really want to touch the externals....

What I am interested in is completely changing the dash - modernising it so that it is brought up to looking 'new'. I am open to the type of design although I'd like to keep the '5 dial dash' design (although update it to the current look).

What would be the best method for achieving this result..? Would it be possible to 'plonk' a new 911 dash in her (that's assuming it would even fit) or would I be better getting a Custom Interior Trim company to design and cut out a new dash/console etc..

Any advice would be appreciated - i am totally in love with the car and think she looks stunning but am just disappointed when i open the door!.

I have never refurbished a car before in my life and would love to get some great ideas and learn more about it.

Thanks!

Why don't you post some pixs of the interior, that might get a better response. Personally I would keep the interior pretty much stock. You might look at other interior colors that might be more pleasing to you. It is what it is...

There's plenty of examples of what you're proposing on Ebay and linked from here. Search on "fail". It pretty much goes hand in hand.

There are ways to spruce it up without going overboard. Post a photo, we can make some suggestions.

There are many interior threads in here as well.

Welcome.
