Buying a 911 in a few years

I will be buying a 911 in a few years. And I want to do my homework before I buy one, as I do not want to make the wrong choice and waste money im saving on a bad car. Im targeting the 911 SC yrs 77-83 as what I will be able to afford. Any suggested books or places to visit to gather some good info ?? I just bought a book on Amazon called The Used 911 story. Is it any good ?

yes, that's a good book.

This site is an awesome source for info as well.

The key bit you should keep in mind is to buy the best 911 you can find on your budget.

You mention the SC years. While these are great cars, don't rule out Carreras of 84-89. They are even better than the SC's, IMO.

That's the best book you could have bought. And you're doing it the right way - learn before you buy. Too many guys do it the other way around and then wish they hadn't.

And start saving now so you can pay cash, or most of the guys on the board will call you names for financing it.

Just remember, whatever you pay for it. It is going to be at least $20k before you're done.
