Need 12V switched source in the eng. compartment
 

I have a 1987 Carrera. I just installed a MAF which requires a 12V power source. I need a source which is switchable (only hot when the key is on) I found a 12V source using either of the three fuses on the posterior, left side of the engine compartment. However, these are hot all the time. I find the MAF draining power while the car is sitting.

I needed a 12v switched source when I installed a shift light a while back. I ended up pulling it from the fuse panel up front. I realize that is from the wrong end of the car but it may save some time and frustration if you have not solved the problem yet.

The heater blower fan only works when the key is hot.
