Rear Seats Question
I am in the process of putting the interior back in my car. It has been out for a few years now and I find myself forgetting where certain peices go. My first question is was there any sound deadening material which went underneath the rear botttom seat cushions or did they just glue down to the metal. When I compare to pictures I see, the cushions look like they have more padding then when I put mine down. Plus the front edge appears to roll around the lip. Is this correct? Did the rear cushions ever change from 1975 to the later years?
Thanks,

On my 73 there was a thin (about 1/8 - 3/16) rubery pad molded in the shape of the rear seat recesses and glued in place. The carpet overlapped, but didn't completely cover the pad in the bucket area. The seat pad was then glued over the carpet and pad. Later cars -- circa 1980's had thicker padding. I'm not sure about a 75, but there was defeinitely a pad of some in that location originally. Joe

Thanks Joe. I am guessing it had deteriorated so badly that the previous owner must have removed it. I will just find some decent material to try and pad it up a little. Not that it matters all that much because my rear seats don't have seat belts. Out of curiosity, what years did they start to add the rear seat belts in?
