Swaybar issue

Well, I'm still discussing the diamond blue faux CE with the owner. He informed me on Friday, he backed out of his driveway and heard a clunking noise. He told me his swaybar broke but sent me this pic today.

It looks like something a bit more serious than the swaybar, rather an attachment point.

My question to the panel is can this be fixed without compromising longevity? If so, how would you go about it?

TIA for any guidance you can provide.

This is a common failure point for the rear sways. I had mine fail shortly after I bought the car and I had both of mine repaired by welding in the factory upgrade piece.

The hot indestructible fix is the WEVO piece. It has a weird name: a RARB Console (?!?). It is the "class act" repair for this.

That is indeed a common fracture. It is the Rear Anti-Roll Bar (RARB) mount but the tear will not significantly affect the structural integrity of the chassis of a street car.

Same thing happen to me. It obviously makes the car handle like hell so be careful till you fix it.

Might be a good time to insure that you have a big sway bar. Mine did, so I just replaced with an OEM part and had it welded by a Porsche specialist..

I just had this exact failure on my 1974 RS clone race car after the PCA club race at VIR. Purchased 2 wevo rear sway bar mounts from our host. Since my car had a 22mm rear bar, I also had to purchase 2 mounting clamps and corresponding bushings. The older bushings and clamps will not match up with the "newer" Rear Sway Bar Mount. If you don't weld, have a shop install these mounts. Problem solved!

The car isn't even mine yet but I think I'll try to get the owner to do the WEVO replacement before I take possession.

Thanks to all for your help on this. I about fell over when I saw the pics.
