BRAID BZ Fuchs 9/11 x 15 replicas
Anyone know of a USA importer of 'BRAID' wheels to try and order a set of their 15" Fuchs replicas?

Whoa
|
You can pick up a set on the Ebaymotors UK site. I saw some last night.
|
they will look killer on your car juicersr, wide bodies super low with fat 15s look incredible, better than 16, 17s etc IMO.
|
I emailed the Braid guys. I'll keep you posted.
|
I noticed the autosport website has a discount for quantities I wonder if a small group buy would be worth it?
Anybody see a price? |

Thanks for the tip. While this is an option, between the pound/dollar rate of exchange, and shipping, you end up getting soaked. Was hoping to find a USA importer of BRAID wheels (there has gotta be one, right??????, i mean these guys in have been making wheels in Spain forever) to cut out the beating you take these days with transatlantic shipping cost. Started looking in to getting a set of these as i have always really liked the RSR 15" look, and now rubber options are coming available again. While these replicas are not exact (look at the slight outer lip) they are pretty close. Hell, you could machine off the lip if you wanted. |
Hmmm, actually just noticed that the UK price was for two wheels. Not bad, but i there is a USA importer, might do better. Barring no USA importer, might try the group buy thing

Is that the Michelin TB15 line at about $1500 for a set of four? http://store.coker.com/26-61-15-michelin-tb15-course.html |
What about these for the rear
http://store.coker.com/search.php?mode=search&by_title=Y&by_shortdescr=Y& by_fulldescr=Y&substring=295/50R15 Not perfect but we are not talking concours. and only $125 each? and maybe this or the 235 for the front? http://store.coker.com/search.php?mode=search&by_title=Y&by_shortdescr=Y& by_fulldescr=Y&substring=235/60R15 |
Just got this back from the guys selling in the UK
"Hello We are not allowed by Braid to ship to the US As you have your own dealer Alan ADVANCED AUTOSPORT TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED" Where is this dealer????? Emailed the ebay guys regarding shipping to the US Ted, coker's michelins are the ones i was thinking of. Grooving Hoosiers was another option. These rims would be mostly for intermittent driving, going to events, etc. I am looking into a rumor that the Pirelli P7's and yokos are coming back on line. |
I run 8 & 11 x15's on my DP with the Michelin TB's. I think a set of tires, 215's & 295's are in the $1700 + range. An excellent dry tire, o.k. -pretty good in the damp, and hydroplane in a good rain. I think I'm optimistic hoping to get 8-10K miles out of them.
I thought tirerack carried the Pirelli's. I heard Yoko make a small batch of the 295's once a year, but was never able to get an exact date, or to place an order. I got a call last year from a guy who's friend had bought the entire run of Yokos, I believe around 100 tires. My car came with the Yokos, and I switched to the Michelins. The Michelins are a lot lighter. The BFG tire mentioned above has a 26.7"dia., the Michelins are around 23.5. I would give Harvey Weidman a call and see what he charges to make up a set of the 9 & 11 x15's. There was also some shop (the one that did Matteo's car) that was offering 11x15". |
I thought "26" on the TB's was the OD? My bad those would be way to big.
|
I just did a quick measure on mine and came up with the 23.5. Here is a shot of a 315x35x17 w/25.7 dia. compared to the 295x40x15.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1223483545.jpg

Yah you would not want to be any bigger than 25.7 the 315s look stuffed as it is.
man those 15x11s look amazing! I just checked Tire rack and the pirellis were not on the web site. Possibly a special order. |
Yes both on 11" wide wheels. Even the 315 x 17's look a bit tall on the car.
I also noticed the P7's are no longer listed. They were at one time. Maybe they sold out. For a really sic look I also have a pair of 13x15 fuchs that would take a 335 x15. Based on the Michelin prices that won't happen anytime soon. |
Great input guys. thanks Gumba
Just heard back from SAR, the uk guys selling the BRAIDS "Hello, delivery to the USA fine we send and receive lots of parts from there. delivery will cost £85pounds sterling by courier on a 5-7 day service inc insurance against loss. Thanks Simon" Hmmm, $147 at todays rate of exhange, bringing total to $1141 shipped for two 11x15 wheels. BTW, these wheels are supposedly lighter than the real deal, at about 15 lbs. Anyone know what the originals weighed? |

Michelin makes the TB street tire in a 335/35/15 that fits. Man that Coker site is annoying. The Michelins use to be very easy to look up. Anyway here is the link. http://store.coker.com/search.php?mode=search&by_title=Y&by_shortdescr=Y& by_fulldescr=Y&substring=29/61-15
