Wich coil should i buy?

I've been searching a lot on the forums to see which coil should i buy for my 1973 911T with MFI.

Almost all say not to buy the metallic one made in brazil.. so i don't go for that.

on an old post from warren said to buy the part number 0 221 121 001 or the 0 221 121 006 (this is replaced by the first one one catalog).

On another posts, said to use the bosch BLUE COIL.

And also the MSD high vibration coil.

The problem is i don't have an MSD dealer here in Argentina, so i have to go for the BOSCH ones. But i have a lot of old VW parts in some shops, so maybe i can get the black original one.

The big problem is...

Which is the PART number for the original BLACK coil and also, which one is the RIGHT replacement PART for this coil (i mean, no the brazilian bad one).

THANKS!!

ariel

Unfortunately they are the same part number. Even the Blue coil isn't blue anymore.

I would get the MSD high vibration blaster coil and remove the sticker.

jajaja nice solution john...

But i can't get MSD here in Argentina

So if they are the same number, if i see the one i can get is the same as the one posted on some pics around here, i will reject it.

I think, maybe i can get a blue one, but don't know if it will work

Remember they are made in brazil, which have commercial agreements with argentina (MERCOSUR) and i can get easlily all the products made there.

Is there any special care to buy the good one and not the bad one??

I'd concur with John on this; get the MSD High-Vibration coil as that really the best solution.

The Brazilian ones are IMHO, unreliable and not worth any $$$.

Blue coils will work, but their turns ratio isn't correct for a CD ignition and we see HP losses on the dyno with those things.

FWIW,..I ship MSD components all over the world,...

Or you can just get a old VW coil. It will work just fine.
