Valve adjustment, the second time is the charm

Completed my second valve adjustment in as many weekends this afternoon! The first try was on Saturday with the realization on Sunday morning with a test drive and a search on the board that confirmed that I had done it incorrectly.

Like many others, I adjusted them too loose the first time around. Apparently this cannot be stressed enough, because my idea of "resistance" is apparently different than what Porsche had in mind. So now the car is much quieter since I have no idea when the last time it had been done, and without the tick of my previous attempt.

Good things: No broken headstuds, reduced mechanical noise, lots of saved money, a sense of accomplishment, and after two tries, I'm pretty good at the process.

I really miss working with my hands sometimes.

any words to the wise

So did you use any special way of doing it to make it easier.
I will be doing mine next weekend.

I did a press bearing in the rear 2 months ago and felt the same.
