Electrical Drain On Battery

HI, i have a 911s 1975 i put a new battery on and start the car run it for a while and turn off, when i go to re start the battery is very low and will not turn starter , when engine was running i removed both battery leads and the engine seemed to lose power end run badly and then stop , can anybody tell me the problem , thanks

First off, quit removing your battery leads with the car running. That is a sure fired way to ruin your alternator and CDI module.

You need to get a volt/amp meter and start pulling fuses to find out which circuit is causing the drain on your battery.

You need to see if your alternator and voltage regulator are working. Get a voltmeter and check the battery with the engine running. You should see 13.5-14.5 volts at the battery.
