Help, I need two head washers

I have been slowly....and I do mean slowly....putting my 69E engine back together and last night figured out that I'm missing two of the thick washers to hold my heads in! I'm sure that through the process of disassembly, cleaning, moving 800 times and now locating to reassemble two have vanished! Does anyone have two that I could buy from you? Thanks Mike

Damn, I just checked and the early washers are NLA! The washers are nothing special so you might get lucky and be able to match them up at a good hardware store.

Kurt, the washers are NOT nothing special, they are hardened and ground and the flats are parallel. If you use a hardware store washer it may deform and loosen the nut. Also, since the face of the barrel nut comes in contact with the washer, it has to be flat to ensure an even torque. If the torque isn't right the preload of the stud is wrong, leading to more problems.

I used ARP since factory are NLA.

Thank You

I wanted to give a heart felt thank you out to Andrew for sending out these washers! This is what this forum is all about, with Porsche guys helping Porsche guys. Too many times people are talking about the negative transactions that are happening I had to take the opportunity to bring up the great. I had run into the issue of missing two of my head washers and out of the goodness of his own heart Andrew sent a bunch out to me. Even when his first package did not arrive, he then proceeded to send out another half dozen..... What a guy!!!! Thank you Andrew for being a asset to this forum!
