Porsche unveil electric-powered 911: The Ruf

Porsche unveil electric-powered 911: The Ruf German Porsche tuning masters Ruf have built an electric-powered 911. Instead of a lovely powerful petrolburning six-cylinder engine, the electric 911 has a 204bhp (you guessed it) electric motor that has a massive 455lb ft of torque. Unfortunately, the batteries are rather heavy so the car weighs 1,900kg - almost 500kg more than the normal car. Because of this, the 0-60mph time is 7.0sec instead of just over 5. The electric Ruf has a range of 200 miles and a charging time of eight hours. I'm not sure it will catch on.  Randy
