What is the best fuel pump for Weber / PMO Carb

Hi,
Any feedback on good aftermarket fuel pump that will supply the right pressure for Weber or PMO 40 mm ? (Going with carb on a boosted 2.4S, for street)

Where did you mount/install it ?

Thanks
JD

I think with any pump you should use a regulator. The venerable Holley Blue ( or even a red ) is a decent reliable choice, and I've mounted one in the factory style location on the front crossmember ( vertical orientation ). The Holleys are loud though.

In my current car I have a billet SX pump and a Mallory regulator. The SX or Mallory pumps are much quieter than a Holley.

Cheers,

We use the Carter 4070 Rotary Fuel pump, They run right at 4 psi, no regulator needed and are only about a hundred bucks.

It should be mounted up by the tank so it pushes the fuel along with an inertia shut off switch.

DO you already have a fuel pump from the mfi setup? If so, you can use it if you use a regulator and a return line.

Its a G force switch which cuts the power to the pump if your in an accident or roll the car. We just pull them out of old Ford cars. Its wired inline to the pump.

Nope, we run hard without any problems, We have ours mounted in the smugglers box with the fuel pump. Whats nice, you can test it and then reset it with the button.

Ok, I have the same question about a fuel pump for a 70T with solexes. My pump is original and has sat for 20+ years. What is my best option? Sorry for the hijack..

That '70T has Zeniths, not Solexes,...

Disassemble and clean that original NLA Bosch fuel pump to start with. If that doesn't do the trick, use the Pierburg.

Steve,
You are correct. I was actually researching them and ran across a thread on Solexes and my ADD kicked in and it went down hill from there. Thanks!

I have a Mr. Gasket pump and a Holley pressure regulator. Pump works fine and fits great in the original pump location. It is a bit loud but makes me feel like im starting up an old Ferrari

RWebb,

If you use the PMO Fuel Block that maintains the 'return line' for the fuel. Why won't the high pressure MFI pump work?

Regards,

He,he.
I've been using a Facet with no regulator for about 10 years.......but I promise that when it pukes I'll get one of them hi-zoot jobbies. That constant clicking has begun to bother me.

Good ! I don't really know the condition of my original MFI pump and I want to have 100% reliability with my new ride. Does someone is using the Bosch MFI fuel filter or should I change it also. Does the pressure drop will be to high if I use a 4 psi aftermarket pump ?

Thanks !
JD
