Anyone gone the "Euro Brake/Park/Turn Signal Lenses" route on their Carrera?

So, I recently scored a free set of rear European brake/turn lenses for my '88 Carrera coupe. I DO like the way they look, which has caused me to ponder doing some kind of front treatment too. As near as I can tell, my options are:

-Leave the rest of the lenses alone, keeping the front amber park/turn lenses already in the bumper valence.

-Put the rubber bumper inserts on, leaving the "inner" amber lenses.

-Put the rubber bumper inserts in, switch to clear inner lenses/amber bulbs

-Do "the full Monte" - clear or amber inner front bumper lenses, rubber bumper side inserts, and clear or amber side fender signal assemblies....

Thoughts? I'm in CA, if that makes a difference. Haven't gotten hassled yet for no front tag on any of my vehicles; wonder if I'll get hassled for the rear Euro lenses, and any front lens changes I do...

Here is my '88 with the front inserts. Scored them at the PartsHaven swap meet a few years ago.

Here is the rear. I think these are the Euro ones. I read somewhere that they were a stock item for '88.

I put the Euro lenses on a few years ago because I really liked the look and sold the old red lenses. I just picked up a pair of red lenses here on the board that I need to clean up and then decide whether to revert back.
I doubt you will get hassled about amber rear turn lenses - my wife's stock 2000 528i has them.

FWIW, I too live in CA.
I've always had a front license plate on the 911, figuring one less thing to get hassled about, though I do despise them. None of my other cars have them, but I figured the 911 is an easier target than a BMW or Volvo sport wagon.

I have a Euro car with Euro lenses plus the US front side bumper markers. I think it looks ok, it's not as if the styling of the impact bumper cars' front ends is that clean and integrated anyways.

Nothing wrong with a little side illumination to make your car stand out at night.
