test the FV function by removing the interior light fuse when the engine is warm and at idle. should make the idle drop off and get chuggy. the relay is under the right seat. right, as in passenger side, in front by the tunnel.

Targa, no dome light. How about removing the relay instead?
Can you test the relay off the car. Yes i found the FV price but what about the relay itself |

I thought the relay under the passenger seat was the O2 relay?

NO buzz FV
Thanks for the photo.
I grabbed it with the fuel pump running and no buzz. Just wondered how buzzy should it feel? Fish air pump, cell phone on vibrate? I read if the clock is running the fuse is ok. I dont remember the interior lights ever working. Probably just burned out. The relay is $10 that gets replaced no matter what today. Exactly where is the best place to verify that the fv is getting voltage? It would be hard to reach back and pull the FV connector and try to put a volt meter to it |

Your version of CIS can be diagnosed with a dwell meter. It will tell you if the system and FV are functioning correctly and a proxy for the mixture setting. No guessing or fish pumps. You need a basic understanding of CIS lambda first, try a Bosch manual, Probst's book or a Bentley manual. You can find all the information you need to diagnose and set up your CIS by searching these archives, but you need to know what all the components and sensors do first.

the FV is rarely bad . did you check voltage at the relay as suggested earlier? if not, get on it. voltage in at 30 and voltage out at 87 and 87b. check it at the plug with a test light when the plug is on the relay. the relay has the numbers on the terminals. this could have been a 5 minute job.
